DockSpan was founded in 2025 by a naval architect who had spent 15+ years watching ports and marine operators absorb the excessive cost, time and resource of continually maintaining dockside infrastructure built from materials never quite suited to the job — steel that corrodes, and timber that rots under constant tidal exposure.
Joined by an Operations Director with 20 years in commercial marine, defence, and offshore, who shares the same conviction: that marine infrastructure should be evaluated on lifecycle cost, not installation price.
